LEGEND
KILLERS
Rock 'n' Roll Personified!! I found that on one of our old show
posters from the 80’s the other day when I was looking for
something in my mom’s attic and it made me laugh. So I thought I
would bring it out of retirement and use it to announce the fact
that we’ve got not just one but two big rock shows coming at ya
for the Christmas season of 07. That’s right. Just when you
probably thought you had heard the last of us we’re back again
and ready to personify all that is good about rock.
It
all kicks off on Thursday
December 20th when we will be taking the
stage at Norma
Jeans 1332 Huron Street for the first time ever.
Joining us for what I am sure will be a fine, fine, evening of
drunken debauchery will be our old buddies 63
Monroe. Always an electrifying tag team and it’s
only 3$ to get in. That’s right 3 measly bucks. A toonie and a
loonie. Why bother even charging a cover. Might as well be free
but whatever. Just means you’ll have more cash to buy drinks and
possibly a few trinkets from the merch table.
|
|
|
|
Also if anyone is interested I‘ll be sitting in with What
Wave Dave on Radio What Wave CHRW Radio 94.9 that
night before the show, between 7-8:30 or so. We’ll be shootin’
the shit and playing some great tunes, you know getting psyched
for the show. Maybe we’ll even down a couple pints, who knows.
Any
ways, after we blow the crap out of
Norma Jeans we’ll be heading back to our favorite
venue. Our old stompin’ grounds as it were, Call
the Office on Friday December 28th.
Joining us on the 28th will be. For the first time ever
on any stage anywhere the one and only Death
Valley Drivers. Although I think there is probably some
other bands with that name but I digress. "Booze,
drugs, women, fire breathing midgets and demonic flying monkeys.
You name it, and that’s what they’re into…. tenfold. Don’t
look for their website though. It was shut down for being too ‘evil’
for the internet. Now that’s saying something. Cover charge is
5$, doors open at 9 and as always at Call
the Office it’s an all ages show. So you can bring
the kids to see the flying demonic monkeys.
So
it’s shaping up to be a great festive season. We look forward to
tipping a drink or two with you and as always at this time of
year. All the best to you from your pals the LEGEND
KILLERS.

February 2007
Update

Hello
Friends,
After
a brief hiatus the bright lights of rock superstardom have come a
calling and it’s time to rock once again. The mighty LEGEND
KILLERS will be performing at the Last
Drop, located at
511 Talbot St.
in
London
this Friday February 9th.
Also appearing will be
Hamilton
’s finest, those loveable, hockey jersey wearing Hartleys,
and
London
’s best kept rock ‘n’ roll secret, the Nasty
Rashes. The doors open at 9 and everything gets
underway shortly thereafter. In this day and age when exactly do
you ever get to see three straight ahead good time rock ‘n’
roll bands on the same bill for the unbelievably low price of 5$?
Other than at a LEGEND KILLERS
show I believe the answer to that question would be never, so if
you can bear to venture out into the cold we would urge you to
come on down, have a few drinks with us and share in the good
tunes and the good times.
Other LEGEND KILLER
dates that you should be made aware of.
Saturday
Feb. 17th
@ the Underground in
Hamilton
we will be opening for our child hood heroes the Forgotten
Rebels.
Friday
March 2nd
@ Call the Office
with the afore-mentioned Forgotten
Rebels
Saturday
April 21st
@ Call the Office
it’s What Wave Dave’s
Birthday Bash! (other bands to be announced)
Well that’s about it. I hope I didn’t take up too much of your
time. Oh yeah, we’ve been nominated for a Jack
Richardson Music Award again so if you want to vote
for us in any category here’s where you can do so.

affair. Pub on the main floor bands upstairs, so if you want you
can grab yourselves a last
meal before the festivities begin. Upstairs doors

asskickingest shows of the year with Supagroup,
but an opening came up in their schedule and the call went out.
And if there is one thing you should know about us by now is
that we don’t turn down opportunities to rock and party with
our friends. Another heavyweight of the
London
rock scene the Terminal
Wallys will also be joining us on Saturday night
so it’s gonna be as the kids say a “sweet show”
When:

Figured
it was time to issue a quick update from the plush, well lit
offices here at LEGEND
KILLERS HQ and just let you know a little bit about
what’s going on with the Mighty LEGEND
KILLERS these days. Our big cd release show at Call
the Office back in July was one hot rockin’ night
I’ll tell you what. For those of you who were unable to attend
I must say that the blood, the sweat and the beers were really
flowing, well not too much blood I don’t think, but lots of
sweat and beer and Jager and JD etc. etc. It sure was a fun
night and a big thanks from us to everyone who came out,
especially those of you who purchased a cd. And speaking of the
cd. “We’re Workin’ On
It” on What Wave Records, things are really
starting to happen. I can feel the momentum on this thing
building even as I type this update. The word is getting out and
getting around that this is one rockin’ disc.
Just
listen to what some of the critics are saying.
“Can
I just say how much I'm loving the LEGEND
KILLERS new CD? Well-played, well put-together... and
in grave danger of being worn out (that's how often I'm playing
it!).”
Cora
– mygiglist.com
|
|
|
|
“Sweaty
garage rock and roll played from the soul (or sole) of the beat
up well-loved Converse high top. Like mainlining Dictators
and chasing the devil with The
Fleshtones. Honest, hardworking rock and roll not
created by fortuitous condition.”
Christopher
Duda – Sugarbuzz Magazine
I
could go on and on, but I won’t. I would however like to take
this opportunity to say another big thanks to everyone at CHRW
Radio Western who have really been supporting the cd
in a big way. Especially Buck
Malibu, In The Red Ryan and of course the
Canadian Guru of Garage, What Wave Dave. You can
check out all their archived shows at http://www.chrwradio.com
They always play the LEGEND
KILLERS!
So
that’s about it for now.
If
you have not already got your copy the CD can be purchased at

"We're
Workin On It". That's what we've been saying to people
for the last year when they ask us how our cd is coming along.
Someone would say. "Hey, how is that cd coming
along", and we would say. "We're workin' on
it". Well the name kinda stuck so that's what we called
it. Pretty catchy eh?
Truth
be told we weren't always workin' on it, and that's why it took
so long to finish it but it's done now and it's a rockin' little
10 tune garage rock masterpiece that grows on you even more
every time you give it a listen. Sort of like a fungus. Only
good. A good fungus.
Any
ways, do yourself a big favor, and us to, and give it a
listen.

The
LEGEND KILLERS erstwhile guitar player / motocross racer Alex
Howard suffered a tough break over the weekend when he took
a spill on his bike which unfortunately resulted in a broken
femur. The good news is that, after several hours of surgery and
the insertion of a 12" steel rod in his thigh, he's well on
the road to recovery. The bad news is that we have had to
postpone our June 16th cd release party at Call the Office.
Even though Al's recuperative powers have been well documented
over the years (the guy can bounce back from a hangover like no
other) There is no way he'll be ready to rock by the 16th of
June. He should , however be back behind his guitar by early
July. Back on his bike? Who knows!
We
are in the process of trying to secure another date and
will post it as soon as we know what it will be. Meanwhile if
you want to send Al any get well wishes you can email
him here. |

Okay
this one’s really gonna rock! In fact it could very well be
the rock event of the season.
On
Wednesday April 19th, the LEGEND
KILLERS will be opening for the one and only SUPERSUCKERS
at Call
the Office. We are really pumped about this show
for several reasons. A couple of them being that this will be
the first time we have played a show in London for quite a
while, and the big one being that the SUPERSUCKERS
are without a doubt one of our all-time favorite bands! For any
uninitiated out there I’m telling you right now that you must
see the SUPERSUCKERS
live, as these guys are one of the most-ass-kicking-est outfits
around. In fact I’m sure that the SUPERSUCKERS
kick more metaphorical ass in one year than most bands could
ever dream of kickin’ in a lifetime full of touring. As I
recently read somewhere, “they
are one of the last bastions of cool rock!” This is
not hype, this is fact. I would not lie to you. These guys rock.

Happy
New Year Everyone,
Check
it out, just recently released. Boot
2 The Head.
A live compilation of a bunch of great London Ontario punk bands
that includes 3 rockin' tunes from your LEGEND KILLERS
and was recorded over two nights last summer at Call
the Office.
The packaging looks great and I've also had the pleasure of
listening to the whole thing and all the bands sound great.
Especially the LEGEND KILLERS. But that, of course, goes
without saying. The cd is available at Speed
City Records in London. I know that there are not that
many copies left so if you want one of these babies you better
act fast!

Hello
Friends,
Just
a quick note to let you all know that your mighty LEGEND
KILLERS will be rocking back into action this coming
Saturday night. The venue is good old Call
the Office, located at
216 York Street
, downtown
London
. This time around we’ll be backing up
Canada
’s punk rock icons the one and only FORGOTTEN
REBELS. In all our years of running in the same
circles this will only be the second time we’ve had this
honour, and I don’t remember the first, so this will
undoubtedly be special.
Advance tickets are $14 and can be purchased at Speed
City Records.
Hope to see some of you at the show.

Just
a quick note to let you know that your old pals the LEGEND
KILLERS are busy dustin’ off their axes, tuning
up the pagan skins and limbering up their livers in preparation
for a big night of rock festivities that have been slated for
next Friday October 21st
. The setting for this extravaganza will be The
SALT LOUNGE, located at
183 King Street
in the heart of the entertainment district in beautiful downtown
London
.
Some
of you may not be aware of it but the SALT
LOUNGE has recently expanded and installed new sound
and lights and I’m sure some other stuff as well, in order to
feature the absolute best in live entertainment, and they have
booked us to play too so that’s pretty cool. Although this
will be the first time for the LKs
at the SALT LOUNGE
it certainly won’t be the first time we’ve played this room.
In fact, before we ever rocked local hotspots such as Call
the Office
or the Electric
Banana
or Notes
or the Key
West
or the Embassy
or the Brunswick
or Mingles
or
countless other
shit-holes I can’t even remember the name of, we started off
our illustrious careers at a club called Bullwinkles
(not to be confused with Kelly’s
Boogie Parlor)
which stood exactly where the Salt
Lounge is today. Imagine that. We were the regular
Wednesday night punk rock house band. A concept that lasted
about two weeks I think. But what a great two weeks! Well
it took 20 years but we finally got a weekend and we’re gonna
make the most of it, so enough with the history lesson and back
to the matter at hand. That being rock, and the LEGEND
KILLERS at the Salt Lounge on Oct 21st. A
paltry sum of $5 is all it’s gonna take to get you through the
door with good times guaranteed to follow.

June
17th and 18th the LEGEND KILLERS will be participating in
the 2nd Boot to the Head Bash, which will be held at Call the

show so we are definitely pumped to be a part of it this time
around. It's basically a celebration of London punk bands past
and present and we will be sharing the stage over the two nights
with such other acts as the ZELLOTS, the FLYING SQUAD,
the SINNERS as well as our great buddies, the scourge of
Huron County, the DCB's, just to name a few.
It's
gonna be a great time, that you don't want to miss so come on

Well
we have not been playing many shows but there has been no
shortage of activity in the Legend Killer camp lately. Basically
we have been working on songs for our new cd, which we will be
recording this spring and look to release by late summer or
early fall which realistically means by Christmas. We've cooked
up a few great new tunes and are really looking forward to
unleashing them on the public very soon so check back often for
some upcoming gig announcements.
This
photo from the Jack Richardson Music Awards was taken by Wayne
Rivet of Smash Photography. You can check out some more of his
work by clicking here.
And speaking of the Awards it was a great time. We saw lots of
old pals and rocked the house with a brief but inspired set.
Kudos must go out to Ian Gifford, Greg Simpson and Mario
Circelli along with everyone else who helped put the show
together.
That's
all for now. |

are based out of Detroit and are fronted by Detroit Red Wings
tough guy Darren McCarty. They just signed a Canadian record

rock so this will be a great show. Tickets at the door are

Sorry
for the lack of updates lately but there has not been a whole
lot going on in LK land as of late. New Years Eve at Call the
Office was a helluva bash and we've been laying low ever since. Things
are starting to get rolling again though.
It's
awards time! The mighty LEGEND KILLERS have been nominated
for a Jack
Richardson Music Award in our hometown of London,
Ontario. Please click on the link below and place a vote for us
in the punk/hardcore division. We should have no problem

helps.

We
will also be playing a set at the after party for the Gala
Awards show which takes place on Sunday April 3rd, at the
Phoenix Nightclub in London. The Matadors and Bobnoxious
will also be playing so it will be a good time.e
Just
remember. A vote for the LEGEND KILLERS is a vote for
ROCK!

December 22, 2004 Update |
|
|
|
Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to take this
opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and to extend an
invitation for you and your loved ones to join the mighty LEGEND
KILLERS in, for what promises to be a spectacular New
Years Eve celebration at London's premiere live music venue, Call
the Office. (216 York Street in downtown London).
Joining the Killers for this evening of non-stop fabulous
festivities will be none other than London's own meteorically
successful, psycho-billy superstars the
MATADORS and those fun-lovin', hard rockin' dudes that
had to shorten the name of their band from Antler River Project to ANTLER
RIVER.....ANTLER RIVER.
With a rock 'n' roll
line-up like this how could your New Years Eve be anything less than truly
magical, and when I tell you how much it costs you're
gonna lose it so prepare yourselves.
$10.
This is not a typo. There
are no zeros missing you are reading this correctly. Ten dollars!
Consider this our gift to
you.
Now I know a lot of folks
these days are into going to their "little house
parties" on New Years Eve, because they don't want to
deal with the hassle of making reservations, and most places cost so
much and basically it's amateur nigh at most of the clubs, but people
come on. How many kick-ass live bands do you get to enjoy at your "little
house parties". I'll tell you how many. Zero! And at
10 bucks a head it's cheaper for you to go out. So if you
want to party like it's 1999 (oops sorry) rock out with some great
live bands, wear silly hats, get drunk, make noise and generally make
a fool out of yourself but in a good way, then Call the Office
is the place for you on New Years Eve, so come one, come all.
Seriously though, have a
great Christmas and all the best in the new year from the LEGEND
KILLERS.
Advance tickets for the
New Years Eve extravaganza are available through Speed
City Records and the club.

| Next Show:
Saturday December 4th at Call the Office.
The LEGEND
KILLERS next show is on Saturday December 4th at Call
the Office. We will be appearing with the Master
Plan. A garage rock supergroup of sorts out of
N.Y.C. Should be a good one! |
 |
| |
| Take two
parts Fleshtones (guitarist Keith Streng, drummer Bill Mihizer),
one part Dictators (bassist Andy Shernoff) and one part Waxing
Poetics (guitarist Paul Johnson) and apparently you get the Master
Plan. I guess having two members with shared history means the
scales tip in their favor, since the 60s party garage rock of the
'tones is the ruling aesthetic here. Amongst the originals and
covers, the best cuts are Shernoff's hard rocking "Find
Something Beautiful" (the followup line being "And set
it on fire!") and "Kickin' It Old School," but any
fan of New Yawk trash pop will likely shimmy and shake to
everything here. Michael Toland / High

It's gonna be a big
one!
Just a quick reminder to all
of you out there that your one and only LEGEND KILLERS,
London Ontario's masters of garage rock mayhem and undisputed
heavyweight champions of beer drinkin' party rock, will be back in
action on the night of Saturday November 6th at Call the Office,
which as most of you know, is located at 216 York Street in the heart of
beautiful downtown London.
Joining the LEGEND
KILLERS for what promises to be a real barn-burner of a show
will be none other than our fellow local rock powerhouses BOBNOXIOUS.
For those of you who like your rock two fisted, in your face and
twisted,(...and really who doesn't) these are definitely your boys but
be warned. BOBNOXIOUS' combination of raging
rock'n'roll music mixed with ranting road rage lyrics, sung to the key
of sarcasm, is not for the weak of heart or young of age. You may be
offended!
And if that's not enough
already our pals the DCB's will also be making the trip
in from Godrock Ontario, in order to lay down a serious barrage of Huron
County Punk Rock which as anyone who has ever seen them can tell you is
definitely not just your average run of the mill punk rock.
Okay quick summary:
LEGEND KILLERS =
Garage Rock Mayhem
BOBNOXIOUS =
Two Fisted, Twisted Rock 'n' Roll
DCBs =
Huron County Punk Rock (not just your run of the mill punk rock)
That my friends is a
seriously large amount of rock, but we know you are up for it, and all
for a paltry sum of $6.

Update
We played in Oshawa for the
first time in many years on Thursday night and while it was not a huge
crowd, those who were in attendance really got into it and were very
appreciative, so we made some new fans and that is always cool. The Matadors
came down from London as well and played a great set. These guys are a
great band and very entertaining. I would recommend that you get out and
see them if you get a chance. They will be at Call the Office in London on
Saturday Oct. 30 so check 'em out, and make sure you get there early enough
to see their intro, because we had tears rolling down our faces we were
laughing so hard!
Hopefully I will have some
pics from the show posted soon.

Update
|
|
Hey Everyone
Our next show will be at
the Catch 22 Cafe in Oshawa Ontario on Thursday Oct 21st. We will be
playing with another London band the Matadors. These guys are a wicked.
And I mean wicked, rock-a-billy / psych-o-billy band that put on a great
show. So if you live in the area please try to make it out. You won't be
sorry.
After that, on Saturday
Nov. 6, we will be doing a full blown, beer drinkin', party, rock show at
Call the Office with fellow Londoners BOBNOXIOUS
This show will feature plenty of.......you guessed it. Beer
drinkin', partying and most of all rock!! Our trusty sidekicks the DCB's
will also be appearing so I would suggest you start prepping your livers
now.
|
|
 |
|
Our next
show will be at Lee's Palace on Saturday Oct. 2nd with the
Chickens, the Tijuana Bibles and possibly one other band. This
will be our first appearance at Lee's Palace in about 15 years so
we are pretty pumped about it. It should be a great night of
"Garage Rock"
This photo was
taken at our show Saturday night at the Corktown in Hamilton. Once
again I handled the vocal duties, and am getting pretty used to it
but Earle will be back behind the mic for our next show. We've
always have a good time when we play at the Corktown and Saturday
was no exception. More photos from the show are up in the pics
section.

The show
Saturday night at Call the Office was a real barn burner.
Unfortunately Earle was not able to make it due to some family
obligations but we did our best without him and still managed to
rock the place like ten men!!
The DCB's
put on a great show and had the crowd right into it by the time we
hit the stage and the Chickens
finished up the night with a rockin' set that had everybody going
crazy. What a great night! Thanks to everyone who came out. |

handsomest men in Rock 'n' Roll? No way! There is only one Handsome
Dick Manitoba, and on top of being the frontman for the Dictators (the
Legend Killers fave band) he also runs a really cool little bar.
|
|
I told
Little Steven that we really enjoyed playing in his Battle of the Bands.
He thought it was cool that we were from Canada. I told him the Chickens
were from Canada to. He said "who"? I said the Chickens.
"Cool", he said.

Whoever says
that the people of New York City are not friendly has never been to
Manitobas. Actually everywhere we went in New York we found the people to
be very friendly. And we went everywhere!
|
|
It's worth
going to Manitobas just to check out all the photos. It's a pretty
impressive collection.

Little Steven's
Underground Garage Battle of the Bands
|
|
| Well
let me start by saying that we didn't win. We rocked and
apparently we were right on the bubble |
 |
but
not quite. That being said we all had a great time and I must say
that the experience was definitely a worthwhile one. We got to
play Cleveland. We rocked. The crowd really dug us. We got to meet
a lot of really cool people from other bands from all over the
states. Everyone treated us really well. We got to go to the Rock
'n' Roll Hall of Fame and best of all our good buddies the
Chickens from Toronto, who we have been friends with since
the 80's ended up winning the whole damn thing! |
| That's
right, the Chickens emerged from the battle victorious and now
they get to go to NYC in July and compete in the finals, which if
they win, they will receive a recording contract and get to open
for Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls. Not to shabby. They
deserved it and I wish them all the best. |
|
I
would be lying if I said that we were not a little bit disappointed
that we did not finish a little higher than 5th. 5th out of 20 bands
I realize is nothing to sneeze at and a lot of the bands were very
good but hey. The Killers rocked! And after our set when we had
complete strangers coming up to us and freaking out telling us
that we had it in the bag I must admit we started to get our hopes
up a bit. Oh well, maybe we were a little too heavy for the true
garage aficionados in the audience, or on the judging panel. As my
friend Sir Kevin Maynard, from the Cathedral of Fuzz radio show
on WCCN Radio in Ann Arbor Michigan has told me on more
than one occasion. "You guys are great but I wouldn't really
call you a garage band. I mean, it doesn't sound like you guys
listened to very many Nuggets, Pebbles, Boulders, Highs, etc. type
60's stuff, which is really what "Garage" rock is..."
And in saying that he would be correct as I have never even heard of
those bands.
|
|
Dave
and Murray from the Chickens |
|
| The
venue itself was also a bit of a disappointment. The name Beachland
Ballroom conjures up all sorts of romantic images of a majestic
old Victorian style ballroom that at one time was the jewel of the
city, overlooking the pounding surf, etc. etc. Well it wasn't on
the beach. The beach was about a |
mile
away and it sure as hell was no ballroom as you can see by this
picture the place was tiny and it was packed. In fairness I must
say that there are two halves to the place and the other side was
bigger and that is where the bands played on Saturday night but on
Friday when we played we were crammed on this tiny stage. You are
probably wondering right about now how come we didn't get to play
in the bigger room on the Friday? That's because it was seniors
polka night and I guess that is more important than a nationally
sponsored competition. |
| All
in all though it was a great experience and we certainly made the
most of it. I want to congratulate the Chickens one again and let
you know that you will be seeing a Legend Killers / Chickens
show booked for London at Call the Office for later in the
summer. We'll let you know as soon as the actual date is
confirmed. Who knows, maybe the Chickens will be the overall
champions by that time. Wouldn't that be cool.
As for the Killers
we've got a few things in the works which we will be announcing
soon so check back often. Finally I would like to thank our
great fans who made the trip to Cleveland to cheer us on and
basically support and take care of us. Here is a few more pics
from our trip. |

Hello Cleveland!!!
|
|
Big news out of the Legend
Killer camp today. Tony Soprano's right hand man himself Silvio Dante,
better know as Little Steven Van Zandt, lead guitarist of Bruce
Springsteen's E Street Band has requested the Legend Killers presence
at his "Underground Garage Battle of the Bands", Cleveland
edition, and when one of Tony's boys asks, you don't say no! Little Steven
is taking it upon himself to "save rock 'n' roll and along
with his nationally syndicated radio show, which gives lots
|
|
|
of great exposure to a
lot of great bands, he has come up with the "Underground Garage
Battle of the Bands". It's kind of like an American Idol thing
for rock bands. The only difference being that this will be cool, and the Legend
Killers have been selected to participate in the Cleveland competition
which starts on Thursday June 17 and goes until Saturday the 19th. It
takes place at the Beachland
Ballroom and as far as we know we're the only Canadian band that's
been selected although I'm not positive about that. 10 bands play
Thursday and 10 more play Friday and the top 2 from each night go on to
play Saturday at which time a winner will be announced. The winning bands
from all the regional competitions of which there are 9 go on to NYC in
July to compete for a full blown recording contract.
|
|
It all sounds pretty cool, and
the Killers are confident that if we bring our A game we'll be walking
away with all the marbles. Well maybe not all the marbles but a lot of
American beer and some rockin' good times! Stay tuned.

Friday June 11 2004
|
|
Well the show at Call the
Office on Friday night was a blast! We were able to hold on to our title
belts, but just barely. The DCB's hit the stage first and man did they
ever bring it. One classic after another their set list was pure gold as
they covered
|
|
everyone from Teenage Head
to the Forgotten Rebels to U.I.C. to NFG. Wow! I
hadn't seen these guys play in several years, In fact I think the last
time was at the Gasworks in Toronto when they opened for Jayne
Mansfield's Head so that tells you how long it's been, or maybe it
doesn't, but they were even better than I remembered them, and talk about
fun. The boys brought a big crew down from their hometown of Goderich and
let me tell ya, these folks know how to party. Look for about 200 more Legend
Killer-DCB shows this year.
Next to hit the stage were
a relatively new local band Antler River Project. I didn't really
know too much about them going in, other than they were a good bunch of
guys who did some Motly Crue covers. Well they didn't do any Crue,
which was fine by me. Instead they did a hard rockin' set of original
material that blew their fans away, and made them some new fans in
the process. Look for more from these guys but probably not as Antler
River Project as they found out the day of the show that there is a
local gospel choir that goes by the same name. Really.
|
|
|
|
Well we knew we had our work
cut out for us. Our shoulders were touching the mat. All we could do is
grab our folding ring side chairs of rock and beat everyone in attendance
over the head with them. That's a good thing by the way, and that's
exactly what we did! The Killers delivered the goods once again and
retained the title of heavyweight garage punk champs of beer drinkin' party rock.
As if there was ever any doubt.
We want to thank CTO,
the DCBs, Antler River Project and most of all everyone who came
out to see the show.

Friday
June 4th @Call the Office |
 |
Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to take the
opportunity to let you all know that it's time again for London's very
own. The mighty garage rockin' maniacs. The heavyweight garage punk
title-belt holdin' champs of beer drinkin' party rock the LEGEND
KILLERS to be hitting the stage at London's
premiere live music venue Call
the Office on Friday June 4th.
I'm giving you all plenty of warning so there is no excuse not to be
there, unless you have something better to do that is. But if you
don't have anything better to do, Call the Office will
definitely be the place to be.
|
|
Joining the Killers
for this big night of rock will be a new local band, the
ANTLER RIVER PROJECT. These guys are some hard
rockin' dudes who can belt out some great Motley Crue covers
along with their own solid tunes and put on a great show.
You won't want to miss
that, and if that's not enough, we've got Goderich, Ontario's, punk
rock legends in their own right, the DCB's
opening up the show. These guys play all the classics and are
really more fun than should be legal. As a matter of fact I think they
have been outlawed in several counties. Not in London though, so we've
got that going for us. They (the DCB's) have
been making some noise about taking away our title-belts so there
could possibly be a showdown! Maybe even a Battle Royale.
Hopefully cooler heads will prevail but you never know.
All this rock and get
this. It's only 5$ to get in. Yes you read
that correctly. 5$.
So get there early, doors
open at 9 and even though its only 5$ to get in you'll want to bring
more than that so you can buy some beers and possibly a t-shirt or a
cd. So make sure you budget for that and we'll see you on the 4th.

The
Corktown |
| Well
we all made it back from our show in Hamilton in one piece and I gotta
say that bus trips are definitely a good time.
|
 |
|
I want to say a big, huge
thank you to our fans who came down from London on the bus because
without all of them there would not have been a helluva lot people there
and we really appreciate it. It was also cool to see a few old friends
from Hamilton that I have not laid eyes on in many years. We had a hoot
playing and I must mention that the p.a. and light system that they have
at the Corktown is top notch. I'm waiting for some pictures of the show
that I will be posting shortly. I also have to thank Darren
from Speed City Records for working our merch table all
night.The opening band the Red
Light Rippers were really good and put on a fine show as did 63
Monroe who were really on their game Saturday night as they
rocked-the-shit-outta-the- place! On a side note the Rippers
and Monroe will be playing Call the Office on Saturday May
8th.
|
|
Captain
Lou, who is booking the bands at the Corktown is definitely trying to
make the place happen and has got a good line up of shows booked for the
near future. I hope it works out for them. You
can check their calendar by clicking here.
The
Legend Killers next show will be on Friday June 4th at Call the Office
in London. We will be sharing the stage that evening with a rocking new
local band the Antler River Project. Also if anyone from
the legendary Goderich Ontario punk band DCB reads this
update please contact me via email. The Legend Killers want you!
That's
about it for now. Hope to see all-y'all at our next show, and if you
want to be on our mailing list and get all the scoops
before anyone else just drop us a line!

Well
for one night anyways and you are welcome to come along.
Saturday
April 24th the
mighty Legend
Killers will be rockin' the Legendary
Corktown Tavern in the Hammer. That's
Hamilton for the uninitiated and to ensure that there will be some
people in the bar when we play, we have decided to rent a bus and bring
our own fans.
Also
on the bill will be London's glam rock gurus 63
Monroe, along with the Red
Light Rippers out of Hamilton and a band from
NY called Spartacus
which has former members of Space
Hog and Blind
Melon, and one of the guys is married to the
actress Liv
Tyler. So that ought to bring em out, in
droves.
Tickets
are $25 and that gets you on the bus and into the show and then, most importantly,
back on the bus to come home. The bus will be leaving from the Canadian
Tire parking lot on Wellington Rd. South. Tickets for the bus trip are
available at Speed
City Records which is located at 428 Richmond
Street, #201 (second floor) in the hart of downtown London. You can
phone 858-2680 or hit their website for more info. www.speedcityrecords.com
It
should be a rockin' good time that I'm sure you don't want to miss.

Legend
Killers / Chickens / Bordertown show! |
|
|
Wow
what a great show Friday night was. We had a hell of a time and |
x |
|
and
did the boys ever rock. The crowd was rockin' just as hard as we were
and I gotta say that there is nothing as cool as looking out into the
crowd and seeing every one just partying down and having a great time. I
was paying for it the next day but it was well worth it. |
|
We
would personally like to thank everyone who came out along with |
|
the
CHICKENS who were just
fantastic as well as BORDERTOWN |
|
who
played a kick ass set from what I have been told. Unfortunately |
|
they
went on stage at 9:30 and I missed all but their final somg. They |
|
looked
like they were having fun though. We would also like to thank |
|
everyone
at Call the

as Jenn, Brittany and April for |

running
our merch table. My beautiful wife and I are off for a weeks |

Our
next show will be on Sturday April 24th at the Corktown Tavern in
Hamilton. We're hitting all the old haunts! The club has a new booker
and they are getting some really cool bands. Check it out www.doublehell.com
We will be rockin' with 63 Monroe and a couple of other cool bands. Word
is that there may be a bus headed down to the show from London, but I
will keep you posted on that one. Speaking of the Corktown our buddies
the CHICKENS will be there Saturday March 20 so if you can, do yourself
a favour and check it out. Buy their new CD to! |

Hey
everyone, our next show will be at Call
the Office in London on |
|
|
Friday
March 5th. We are pleased to announce that appearing with |
 |
|
us
will be the Chickens
from Toronto. As you may, or may not, |
|
know
the Chickens originally hail from Exeter Ontario and are made |
|
up
of members of UIC, who were one of the best garage rock bands
ever! |
|
The
Chickens have just released their second CD, "Bring It On" and |
|
the
show on the 5th will also be a local CD release party for the boys. |
